The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Howe Military School:
Program Summary: Howe offers an ESL program for students whose native language is not English. This program is designed to accommodate both lower and upper school cadets and is incorporated into our school curriculum. The ESL teacher works individually with each international student, focusing on improving grammar, conversational English and writing skills. In addition, students will complete a course in ESL English that will prepare them for the regular English classes. Our ESL teacher works closely with the international cadets’ other teachers and Tactical Officers to ensure a smooth transition to our school and success both personally and academically. There is an additional $1,000 fee for our ESL Program.
