Graduation
Requirements

Howe’s curriculum is based on the assumption that every graduate expects to attend college. In fact, 97 percent of graduates do go on to higher education. That’s why our minimum requirements for graduation are as follows: |

Our Guidance Office at Howe Military School is the driving force behind the developing pathway that students follow to decide on a career goal, graduate from high school, and move on to college. The moment the student walks through our door, an assessment is made using prior transcripts and test scores to determine an appropriate course schedule content and number of classes. A four-year plan is developed using prior coursework to determine the framework of courses necessary for graduation. Our guidance office will determine how the student’s past, present, and future course work meets the graduation requirements of the State of Indiana’s Core 40 and Honor’s Diploma, as well as the requirements for acquiring a Howe Military School diploma. |
Students learn very quickly what the expectations of the school are and what is needed to accomplish those goals. If they have areas of weakness, they may need to plan on an additional year of high school to successfully meet all graduation requirements. |
Especially strong students may seek advanced courses in English, mathematics, science, and languages, as well as elective choices in all subject areas. |
