Captain Barnes joined the Howe Military School staff in 2006.  He is a graduate of Concordia College with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts.  Captain Barnes has also done some undergraduate work at Michigan State University. 

Captain Barnes has approximately 10 years of Summer Camp and High School Coaching experience.  His work at Howe Summer Camp the last two years led to his hiring.  Previously Captain Barnes worked as an assistant golf pro in West Bloomfield, Michigan, and most recently as a sportswriter and editor for Kendallville Publishing Co. 2001-2005.

Captain Barnes enjoys photography, painting, baseball, NFL Football, and family life with his wife Bonnie  and his new son Augie, and step kids Adam and Ashley.
