Mrs. Kathleen Baker earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education (magna cum laude) from Georgian Court College in New Jersey, and earned teaching certificates for both French and the elementary grades. While an undergraduate, she also spent a summer studying French at Laval University in Quebec, Canada. Mrs. Baker holds a Master of Education degree in Reading and Language Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also has earned fifteen credits beyond the Master’s degree, while studying at The University of Virginia, Saint Mary College in Kansas, and at Indiana University-Bloomington. Mrs. Baker has been the French master at Howe Military School for ten years and the Reading Specialist/Coordinator for four years. Prior to holding her position at Howe Military School , Mrs. Baker taught in six other states. Those experiences included teaching sixth grade, French, gifted and talented classes, developmental reading, and learning disabilities resource room. She has also been a private tutor, and a test administrator for an education center under the auspices of the United States military in Germany. While living in Germany for five years, Mrs. Baker traveled throughout Western Europe, which included a number of visits to France.
