Father David Yaw earned his Bachelor of Science from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio in Secondary Education with a major in History. Chaplain Yaw taught history in public school for six years before entering the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, Massachusetts He graduated with a Master's of Divinity degree in 1978 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1979. Chaplain Yaw holds advanced credentials in hospital chaplaincy, marriage and family counseling, and medical ethics. Some of Chaplain Yaw areas of responsibilities include served as a staff chaplain at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio; Saint Johns Northwestern Military Academy, Delafield, Wisconsin as chaplain and resident Civil War Scholar; and, Randolph Macon Academy Front Royal, Virginia as chaplain and resident theologian. Chaplain Yaw and his wife, Marily, reside on campus in the original 1844 Howe School building which now serves as the school chaplain's living quarters Concurrent with his duties as Chaplain, Father Yaw is also Rector of Saint Mark's Parish, Howe, Indiana.
