Charles Grady was born December 10, 1967 in Richmond, Indiana and graduated from Bluffton High School in Bluffton, Indiana. He entered the Active Army on 22 June 1986 and his specialty was Military Intelligence. Specifically, he was to task satellites for the military and identify what was found. After Desert Storm, he left the Active Army and joined the National Guard as a Nuclear Biological and Chemical Specialist. He also attended Purdue University for Mathematics and graduated in 1997 with a Masters in Mathematics and Minors in Teaching and Computer Science. Charles taught for Purdue University at Indiana-Purdue in Fort Wayne, Indiana for two years. He then accepted a position at Howe Military School where he taught Geometry and Algebra 1 for two years. Charles left Howe to pursue a public school position and taught at Penn-Harris Madison School in Mishawaka, Indiana for one year. He was called back to active duty where he fought in Bosnia-Herzogovinia for two years. While in Bosnia, his job was to regulate and govern an Opstina(our equivalent of a county) which contained approximately 50,000 people. He also had the opportunity to teach at Tessala High school in the city of Samac. The school is named after Nicoli Tessala who graduated from the school. Tessala is known world wide for such things as tessellations. Mr. Grady also taught leadership courses to soldiers on the base camp for Maryland State University. He has held enlisted ranks up to and including Staff-Sergeant and officer ranks up to and including Captain both in the US Army and the US Army National Guard. Mr. Grady is now retired from the military. He is married to Jill and has two boys Matthew and Michael who are cadets at Howe Military School.
