Mrs. Brandie Fitch first came to Howe Military School as the school counselor in August of 2001 after working for five years as an addictions counselor for a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Brandie graduated with a BS in psychology from Indiana State University in 1996 and earned her Master’s Degree in education with a school counseling specialty from Indiana University South Bend in 2005. Brandie works with each cadet to design an appropriate four-year plan of high school courses, and also does college/career counseling with each student to help them with plans for life after Howe. Brandie is Howe’s test coordinator and oversees the administration of all standardized tests including ISTEP+GQE, the Stanford Achievement Test, PSATs, SATs and AP exams. In addition to counseling and academics, Brandie has also coached while at HMS. She is a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the Indiana School Counselor Association (ISCA), the Indiana Counselor Association (ICA), and the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC). Brandie is married to Tom Fitch II and has a seven year old daughter. They also have three cocker spaniels and a golden retriever.
