Howe seeks students of good moral character who have the ability to do college preparatory work. *    The Howe Admissions Committee consisting of the school's superintendent, headmaster/principal, commandant, and admissions director evaluates and accepts students grades 5 through 12 on the basis of:

  • The results of our entrance exam
  • The applicant’s most recent academic records and scores on the last standardized test taken.  Records must confirm that the applicant needs no special accommodations
  • An on-campus interview (if applicable)
  • References from 2 current teachers and 1 school administrator
  • The applicant’s conduct record
  • A stated and demonstrated willingness to be a successful member of the Corps of Cadets

*Disclaimer Howe Military School is a traditional, college preparatory, secondary boarding school.  Though classes are small, our school is not staffed or equipped to help students who need any kind of learning accommodations.  This includes needs such as resource room, special tutoring, extra test-taking time, or staff to accompany students.  Howe cannot accept students with learning disabilities or severe emotional diagnoses.  The programs, staff, or therapeutic counselors necessary to assist students with special needs are not available at Howe.
